I’d like to personally invite you to “SCARLET & GOLD”.
A Chinese New Year themed Cocktail Party in aid of Operation Smile.
Marina Peyton-Jones , Tim Shannon and the Scarlet & Gold Committee invite you to the inaugural “Scarlet & Gold – Making A Mission In China”. A Chinese New Year themed Cocktail Party, in aid of Operation Smile.
Held on Thursday, 4th February 2016, at 7.30pm in the Chelsea Old Town Hall, “Scarlet & Gold” will be a fun cocktail drinks party, with a fund-raising auction.
The aim is to raise enough money for 150 life-changing cleft operations / smiles. Each operation cost £150 and takes only 45 mins to perform.
As for a little background on this global charity, Operation Smile provides free surgery (by volunteers) to repair cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
Operation Smile is an international medical charity whose global network of thousands of credentialed medical volunteers from more than 80 countries is dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children from more than 60 countries.
Since its founding in 1982, Operation Smile has provided more than 240,000 free surgical procedures for children and young adults born with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. To build long-term sufficiency in resource poor environments, Operation Smile trains doctors and local medical professionals in its partner countries so they are empowered to treat their local communities and help others around the world.
Operation Smile also donates medical equipment and supplies and provides year-round medical treatments through its worldwide centers.
Every year 35,000 children are born in China with cleft lip and cleft palate deformities. Since 1991, Operation Smile has treated 22,700 patients in 79 Chinese cities on 164 separate medical missions. With your help, the Scarlet & Gold cocktail party will raise sufficient funds to give 150 children, life changing surgery and fabulous new smiles.
All too often, these children are rejected by the people around them, afraid to go to school and ostracised by their communities. Unable to eat, speak, socialise or smile, parents simply can’t afford to give their children the surgery they desperately need.
Please buy a ticket or 10 here. If you’d like to buy more for your company employees, please let us know.
THANK YOU and I hope we’ll see you on the 4th Feb.
